Porsche Macan 2024 specifications, features, and prices

The 2024 Porsche Macan EV will be faster than the 911 GT3

The second generation of the Porsche Macan electric  SUV is here! It's the first time Porsche has built an all-electric model into its range, and it's scheduled to hit the market later this year.

This car is considered by Porsche to be one of the most important cars produced by the company and is awaited by many. The Macan EV also looks very similar to the rest of the family.

In this report, we review everything related to the promising electric car from Porsche, including specifications and prices in pictures.

Porsche Macan 2024 specifications

Porsche Macan 2024 electric specifications

The 2024 Porsche Macan Electric sits atop Porsche's PPE (premium electric platform) architecture, which is also shared with the electric-powered Audi  Q6.

The electric Macan is   188.4 inches long, 2.3 inches longer than the previous combustion-powered.

What is the price of a Porsche Macan? The new electric car will have a starting price of $79,000. It has some unique features that make it just as good as the Porsche 911 GT3.

The new Macan EV is 3 inches taller, 65.8 inches wide, and 84.7 inches wider than the ICE version.

New Porsche Macan features

  • The new Macan features a sloping, coupe-style roofline that slopes sharply towards the rear, in addition to wide fenders that hide the lower part of the electric car's body.

  • “The new Macan represents the first time we've taken electrification from Porsche's established product identity,” says Michael Mauer of Style Porsche.

  • He continued: “The new Macan is distinguished by its brand identity, as part of the new Porsche product family.”

  • The Macan EV's larger footprint allows for more interior space, with more legroom for rear passengers. Each new Macan offers 4.4 cubic feet more cargo space than the ICE version, with an additional 2.9 cubic feet of space under the hood in the second small cab.

Battery and range of the 2024 Porsche Macan Electric

The 800V battery can instead be treated by the battery management system as if it were two 400V batteries. Porsche claims this would reduce the time needed to charge at 400-volt outlets.

Porsche Macan EV range

  1. The estimated range of the Macan 4 and Macan  Turbo is expected to be more than 300 miles; EPA numbers will be released later this year.
  2. When braking, the battery can be recharged at a maximum rate of 240 kW for up to 0.5 g. It is interesting to note that the car cannot stop on its own at low speeds and does not have the option of single-pedal driving.
  3. It is also possible for the battery management system to treat an 800V battery as if it were two 400V batteries.

Technology in the electric 2024 Porsche Macan

Porsche is putting more technology inside the Macan than previous models. For example, it comes with three dashboard displays. A 12.6-inch driver information screen completes the trio, which also includes an additional 10.9-inch device in front of the front passenger. The infotainment system measures 10.9 inches in the middle.

Although it's a different type than what some other cars use, augmented reality can also be installed in the driver information display. Directions are displayed on an image equivalent to an 87-inch screen and are visible to the driver at a distance of 32.8 feet.

Furthermore, expect both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration to be included in the augmented reality display. Naturally, the infotainment system has a simple mode for those who want a more traditional dash.

Engine and performance of the 2024 Porsche Macan EV

Both Porsches and electric cars are inherently associated with speed, and the Macan continues that tradition.

When it debuts, it will be available in Macan 4 and Macan Turbo models, with more to come.

Macan EV acceleration

  • The standard Macan 4 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (06 km/h) in 4.9 seconds with 402 hp (300 kW) and 479 lb-ft (648 Nm) of torque. It has a top speed of 136 mph (219 km/h).

  • Both versions can effectively transform into a rear-wheel-drive crossover by sending all the power to the rear tires only.

  • However, the Macan Turbo is much sportier. It produces 833 lb-ft (1,128 Nm) of torque and 630 hp (470 kW).

  • This translates to a top speed of 161 mph (259 km/h) and a 3.1-second 0-60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration time.

  • The new Macan Turbo can perform the same task in 3.2 seconds and has 502 horsepower, which is faster than a 911 GT3 straight out of the factory.

  • Porsche has many innovations that help it stay ahead of the curve. A Porsche Torque Vectoring ( PTV ) rear differential is standard on all Macans.

  • PTV Plus, a more advanced version of this technology that allows the rear engine to operate as a locking differential, is available to Macan Turbo buyers.

  • Both versions also have four-wheel steering, which improves low-speed handling and high-speed stability by enabling the rear tires to turn up to five degrees in any direction.

The Macan EV is a crossover

Furthermore, air suspension is a standard feature on the Macan 4 and Macan Turbo. Two-valve systems at each corner provide adjustment and rebound.

A Porsche representative discusses the system with CarScopes, saying, "It's clearly a crossover."

He continued: "We realize that the majority of users will only use this car to get to and from work, school, or other destinations. However, it still bears the Porsche logo at the end of the day. Therefore, it must continue to provide the best driving and handling experience possible."

What is the price of a Porsche Macan?

The starting price for the Macan 4 is $78,800, excluding a $1,650 destination and delivery fee.

By comparison, the modern Macan has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 261 hp (194 kW). It starts at $60,900, but it's not as fast or as technologically advanced. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) takes six seconds.

Pricing for the Macan Turbo starts at $105,300, not including delivery or destination fees. Its closest performance counterpart is the Macan   GTS, which, priced at $86,800, has a 2.9-liter turbocharged V6 engine that produces 434 hp (323 kW). It can reach 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

Macan EV competitors and arrival date

  • Porsche claims the ICE-fueled Macan is the only direct competitor to the Macan EV, which may sound arrogant, but a cursory glance at the market suggests it's not too far off.

  • When it arrives soon, the Audi Q6 e-tron, which shares several parts with the Macan EV, will likely cost slightly less than the Porsche.

  • Customers can also compare prices for the Mercedes EQE SUV and the larger BMW iX. However, none of them are likely to offer the same driving dynamics.

Open order for Macan Electric

Porsche said it will begin accepting orders immediately, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the summer of 2024.

However, it is important to note that Porsche declined to provide a specific number when it told Carscoops that production for the 2024 model year could not be enough to meet demand. A significant increase in manufacturing is expected by 2025, they said.

This is the most important information about the 2024 Porsche Macan Electric that was officially revealed by the company.
