The new Skoda Octavia RS is coming on February 14

New Skoda Octavia RS

Hot on the heels of the Volkswagen Golf's facelift, its larger counterpart from the Czech Republic will get updates as well.

revealed Skoda About design drawings for the new Octavia, which will appear for the first time on February 14.

We should see the expanded lineup next week, considering that the teasers showed different bodies for various models.

The real thing won't look as pretty as this digital drawing.

However, we do notice some interesting details, such as the redesigned daytime running lights that extend lower on the bumper.

The 2024 Octavia will use next-generation LED headlights with blue interior accents.

At the back, updated taillights with dashed lines create an Audi A4-like vibe.

For the Octavia RS, Skoda has created a more aggressive front bumper and appears to have etched the 'RS' logo on the wheels.

Next week's premiere will also include the Sportline model, which sits just below the RS and serves as the Octavia equivalent of the Golf R-Line.

There are no pictures showing the interior however, after seeing the VW Golf Mk8.5, it is likely that the Octavia equivalent will also get a larger touchscreen.

This was confirmed by a prototype spotted in August 2023. The Octavia is expected to follow the Golf's minor interior modifications with other subtle upgrades.

It will be interesting to see if Skoda intends to sell the facelifted Octavia RS with a diesel engine, seeing as how the Golf misses the GTD in action.

Another missing piece of the puzzle is whether the petrol model will inherit the Golf GTI's power bump.

Volkswagen has developed the 2.0 TSI engine to generate an additional 20 hp for a total of 261 hp.

Don't expect a manual gearbox in the facelifted Octavia RS as the latest GTI will be sold strictly with a dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The Golf GTI does not come with a wagon body style, which is one of the main reasons why...Skoda Octavia Combi RS is very popular in Europe.
