Chevrolet Equinox 2025.. Design, engine, technology, and prices

The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox is a vehicle that embraces technology and off-road behavior.

The Equinox is Chevrolet's best-selling crossover and its second-best-selling vehicle overall.

Although this model was not in high demand, its popularity led to more than 3 million copies sold in the past 20 years.

With the fourth-generation 2025 Equinox, which features all-new Activ equipment, a much-improved interior, and a rugged exterior, Chevrolet hopes to change that. This is a huge improvement, as the crossover now outperforms a number of significant competitors.

Chevrolet Equinox 2025 design

Although the 2025 Equinox has always had a smooth, conservative look, the updated model takes a new, more expressive approach.

The crossover gets a muscular new look with an upright fascia and squared-off wheel arches as part of this endeavor. There are also some distinctive stylistic elements and thick cladding that buyers should note.

The first feature of the new car is that each of the three trim levels contains a different grille and divided lighting units.

For added visual appeal, the car also features a taut, sporty body with fine creases and lines.

In reference to the latter, the model uses a C- C-pillar reminiscent of the wave found in the Traverse.

Although the rear is somewhat conservative, it features an almost vertical tailgate with angular details and a prominent spoiler.

Now that the liftgate is automatically sensing, you can stop running the Hokey Pokey using the kick sensor. The model also has taillights similar to those on the Traverse and a hidden exhaust.

Chevrolet Equinox 2025 categories

  • The differences can be seen in appearance, with the entry-level LT getting 17-inch wheels and a wide grille with horizontal chrome accents. With its distinctive bumper and grille as well as newly available 20-inch wheels – a first for an Equinox – the RS takes a fresh approach. A contrasting glossy black roof is another option for the car, adding to its sporty appearance.

  • The new Activ model, which embraces an off-road look and has 17-inch wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber, is big news for 2025.

  • The car also features an optional contrasting white roof, gloss black accents, and a unique grille. Also available to buyers is a distinctive rear bumper with a fake skid plate.

  • With a wheelbase extending 107.5 inches (2,730 mm), the Equinox measures 183.2 inches (4,653 mm) long, 74.9 inches (1,902 mm) wide, and 65.6 inches (1,667 mm) high. Accordingly, the model has become 51 mm (or more) wider than the previous version, although it is still almost the same size.

Chevrolet Equinox interior

The 2025 Equinox features a stylish cabin with 11-inch screens. Although the exterior appearance is stunning, the Equinox's all-new interior is where the biggest changes are made.

The center console has undergone a complete restoration. Most importantly, the small shifter that was previously mounted on the steering column was added to the car.

With a floating design, a new drive mode selection, and a wireless charger that keeps your phone close at hand.

The RS's cabin features bright red accents and two-tone contrast stitching, while we didn't get to see the entry-level LT. They are connected by glossy black rims and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.

The Activ takes a different approach, with a gorgeous black and tan interior that's undoubtedly among the best in its class. It has embroidered headrests, microfiber details, and Evotex leather-like upholstery.

The dashboard and door panels also use the same two-tone design for the seats. This instantly gives the car a sense of exclusivity and takes the cabin to a whole new level.

The good news doesn't stop there either, as the large bolsters in the front seats contribute to overall comfort and support. For this 6-foot-2-inch writer, the back seats offer adequate head and legroom, so they were also up to the task.

Speaking of space, the cargo area behind the rear seats has a capacity of 29.8 cubic feet (845 L), and when the seats are folded down, this capacity increases to 63.5 cubic feet (1,799 L). It's also important to note that the crossover offers plenty of storage space under the rear load floor.

Technology in the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

Drivers will see an 11.3-inch infotainment system with integrated Google and an 11-inch digital instrument cluster while sitting behind the redesigned three-spoke steering wheel.

The latter gives the cabin a modern, high-tech feel and represents a major advance over the old 7-inch screen.

Screens aside, the crossover gets a new, sleek dashboard with soft-touch details and flowing lines.

Linked together are the physical climate controls and turbine-like air vents that have quickly become a Chevrolet symbol.

2025 Chevrolet Equinox engine

The "renewed" 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine under the hood continues to deliver 175 hp (131 kW / 177 hp) and 203 lb-ft (275 Nm) of torque. The engine has updated software and calibration to increase fuel efficiency, but output remains the same.

Transmission in 2025 Equinox

  • In connection with this, the premium transmission took the position of a six-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive cars have an eight-speed automatic transmission, while front-wheel drive models have a new continuously variable transmission.

  • While they weren't ready to provide specifics, Chevrolet representatives told us that customers should expect increased fuel economy overall.

  • In addition to the engine upgrades, the RS and Activ models now include a drive mode selector. It comes with a variety of settings, such as an off-road mode for four-wheel drive vehicles and a snow mode for front-wheel drive versions.

Safety and security in the 2025 Equinox

Many standard driver assistance features are available to buyers, such as intersection collision mitigation, enhanced automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and enhanced lane keep assist. They are joined by rear parking assist, rear cross-traffic alert with braking, and lane change alert with side blind zone alert. A rearview camera, side cyclist alert, and rear seat reminder are other features .

Customers can choose to add options like an HD surround view system and a rear camera mirror to an already impressive list of basic safety features. Traffic sign recognition and speed assistance are additional improvements.

Prices and arrival times of the 2025 Chevrolet Equinox

The 2025 Chevy Equinox will be manufactured in Mexico and will go on sale in the United States in the middle of this year. Although they were not ready to discuss pricing, officials indicated that the model would continue to be competitive.

However, a sleeker cabin and more standard equipment suggest the price will likely rise. Therefore, we would not be surprised if this model comes at a price of about $30,000.
