  • The BMW 430i series continues with a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system with a total power of 255 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque, although Ford has updated the engine to improve response.

  • The M440i category comes with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder turbo engine coupled with a 48-volt hybrid system. The engine alone generates 375 horsepower, with the addition of 11 horsepower from the hybrid system to raise the total power to 386 horsepower and torque to 540 Newton meters.

  • The fourth category received a facelift with new elegant designs for the steering wheel, new colors for the exterior and interior leather, and new designs for the 19-inch wheels inside high-performance tires.

  • BMW will launch the new 4 Series next March, with global prices starting at $51,700 before taxes.

Updates to the interior of the BMW 4 Series 2025

For 2025, the BMW 4 Series will undergo minor visual updates, including new LED headlights and a black grille for the M440i. The 48-volt hybrid system is a standard option on both the four-cylinder 430i and six-cylinder M440i models.

Prices range from $51,695 for the 430i Coupe to $75,245 for the M440i xDrive Convertible. While mid-cycle BMW facelifts of the 1990s and 2000s were often limited to minor changes, the 2025 4 Series gets greater improvements, including improved grille, headlight, and taillight designs, as well as an upgrade in the Transportation system.

The headlight design has been revised to be slimmer with standard LED interior lights, and BMW describes the new shape as a “sophisticated and progressive look.” However, this improvement may not be obvious to big Series 4 fans. While the shape of the taillights remains the same, BMW will offer “laser light” units instead of the standard LEDs, which use illuminated fiberglass beams for a 3D effect. Laserlight is available as a standard option on the M440i and as part of the optional Shadowline package on the 430i.

Under the hood, both the four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines are equipped with a 48-volt hybrid system, and although this will not result in an increase in maximum power, improvements in fuel efficiency are expected. For the M440i's 3.0-liter turbo six-cylinder, BMW offers a 48-volt starter generator as an option that can add up to 11 hp of assistance, raising maximum power to 386 hp compared to 382 hp for the previous non-hybrid version, with torque increased to 398 hp. lbs.

The 430i's 2.0-liter turbocharged engine has been redesigned, running on the Miller cycle for improved efficiency. Maximum power at 255 hp and 295 lb-ft remains unchanged, and the eight-speed automatic transmission continues as the main option, with xDrive all-wheel drive available as an optional option.

As for pricing, it is expected to rise as the 430i Coupe starts at $51,695, while the 430i Convertible starts at $59,695. Prices for the M440i Coupe increase to $65,245, an increase of $2,800, while the M440i Convertible goes to $73,245, an increase of $3,025. There is no increased cost to upgrade to xDrive. The new 4 Series is expected to arrive in the US later this year, with similar upgrades to the four-door Gran Coupe model expected to be unveiled later as well.
