The debut of the Mercedes-Maybach S580e as the first plug-in hybrid model

The Mercedes-Maybach plug-in hybrid model is the S580e. The automaker already has a non-Maybach version on the market, which debuted in 2020.


The plug-in hybrid will debut in China first, and Thailand, Europe, and other countries will be the first to launch.


Mercedes-Benz's 3.0-liter inline-six petrol engine powers the plug-in hybrid. On its own, it generates 367 hp (270 kW) and 368 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque. The electric motor generates 150 hp (110 kW) and 440 Nm of torque from the first engine revolution.

  • The electric motor and petrol engine produce 510 hp (375 kW) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque, the same as the Mercedes-Benz S580e, Mercedes claims the Maybach S580e plug-in hybrid can accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h). clock) in 5.1 seconds and reaches 155 mph (250 km/h).

  • Mercedes-Maybach hasn't specified or revealed any other significant changes to the plug-in variant model, like the rest of the Maybach lineup, but it will be full of luxury and elegance as well as plenty of modern technology.
