Orgcars–Toyota has increased the prices of the 2025 GR Corolla. If you were waiting for Toyota to release an automatic transmission option for the GR Corolla before placing your order, the good news is that it’s now available. However, the bad news is that the automatic transmission for the 2025 GR Corolla is more expensive than you might expect.

Toyota 2025 GR Corolla
Toyota has unveiled a new eight-speed automatic transmission, replacing the standard six-speed manual transmission, but with an additional cost of $2,000.
However, when you add the $2,360 price increase for the 2025 GR Corolla to the automatic transmission premium, you might start wishing you had simply bought the manual transmission last year and avoided the hassle.
Improved Performance in the 2025 GR Corolla
Despite the higher price, there are some reasons to be thankful you waited until 2025 to purchase the Toyota GR Corolla. One difference is that this year’s 1.6-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine produces the same 300 horsepower (304 PS) as the 2024 model but gains a slight increase in torque, from 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) to 295 lb-ft (400 Nm).
New Automatic Transmission
The new eight-speed automatic transmission also includes launch control, which the manual transmission lacks. However, Toyota claims that the stick shift version now has a faster clutch operation.
Suspension System in the 2025 GR Corolla
All GR Corolla models feature a redesigned suspension system that includes rebound springs to keep the inside rear wheel grounded and rear mounting point adjustments to reduce squat under heavy acceleration.
More Standard Features in the 2025 Toyota GR Corolla
Another reason to prefer the 2025 model is that front and rear limited-slip differentials are now standard across all models, including the base Core trim, which costs $39,995 with a manual transmission or $41,995 with an automatic transmission.
Previously, these limited-slip differentials were standard on the Premium trims and above and were only available on the Core trim for an additional $1,180 as part of the performance package. Making them standard across the board doesn’t completely offset the price increase, but it helps.

Here are the new prices for the 2025 Toyota GR Corolla, which have increased compared to last year:
The mid-spec Premium trim now costs $42,575 with a manual transmission and $44,575 with an automatic transmission, adding JBL audio, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, and a steering wheel to the Core's equipment list.
The top-of-the-line model has changed, with last year’s Circuit Pack being replaced by the well-equipped Premium Plus.
It costs $46,650 with three pedals ($48,850 with two pedals) and features a forged carbon hood with a bulge and functional vents, a sub-radiator, matte black wheels, a head-up display, and red stitching on the GR-branded sports seats.
